USCF Release Destinations
Utah State Correctional Facility, or USCF, is a state prison operated by the Utah Department of Corrections. It is at 1480 North 8000 West in Salt Lake City, not in Juab County. It belongs in the Juab release map because UDC says most state releases and paroles are completed through the USCF Release building, including almost all releases of state prisoners housed in participating county jails.
A person leaving USCF may enter the community on parole, travel to a community correctional center, transfer to another government authority, or reach full sentence termination. Parole is supervised release while the sentence remains active. Termination or expiration ends the specified sentence or supervision. A detainer can produce a direct handoff, so the person leaves UDC’s facility but does not enter the community.
Confirm a USCF Release
The correct first search is the UDC Offender Search. It covers people currently incarcerated by UDC or currently on UDC probation or parole. It excludes ordinary unsentenced county-jail detainees. A former prisoner shown as a parolee has left prison but remains under supervision. A record showing a future parole or release date is not proof that the event has occurred.
- Search by UDC number when known, or enter at least one letter of both the first and last name.

The public search is a current-supervision tool, not a guaranteed archive of every discharged person. No result after a known state sentence can reflect spelling, identity, data timing, full termination, or a different jurisdiction. USCF Parole Decision Records
The Board hearing and decision search accepts first and last name or offender number. It also allows date-range searches and may match known aliases. A hearing entry proves only that a hearing or review was scheduled. Decisions often follow later. Read the published order before drawing any conclusion about release.
Board actions include original hearings, rehearings, redetermination, paper review, parole-violation proceedings, and rescission. Rescission can withdraw a previously granted date before release. A violation decision can return a person already on parole to custody. This is why a prior order and a current UDC status may differ without either record being an error.

USCF Tuesday Release Processing
UDC’s official Release Day information says prison releases and paroles are processed on Tuesdays. Arrivals at the USCF Release building are staged by the person’s housing origin, and the Release Fair may take one to four hours. That range describes state processing, not Juab County Jail’s schedule and not an appointment time for a specific person.
County-housed UDC prisoners are central to this procedure. Almost all are routed to USCF for release instead of leaving directly from the county jail to the community. A Juab County Jail departure may therefore be an internal state transfer made before the Tuesday process. Follow the state record beyond the Nephi out event.
UDC says a family ride is not always required and describes limited transportation to nearby TRAX for people without rides. Release timing may depend on housing origin and administrative steps. No exact completion time should be promised. Confirm current instructions with UDC before arranging pickup.
Juab Prisoners Routed to USCF
Juab County Jail has contract beds for state prisoners through the Inmate Placement Program. Those individuals remain UDC prisoners. The dated FY24 booklet reports 15 contracted or available state beds in Juab and regular housing of as many as 15 UDC prisoners. It described most as having established parole dates or waiting for treatment placement.
The state status follows the person even while the county provides the bed. The sheriff can document when a person left Juab, but UDC and the Board control the state release path. A transfer to USCF is not a second arrest and is not community release. It is often the route to final processing.
The distinction also changes the search method. A local Juab detainee is checked by calling the jail, requesting sheriff records, and reading the court file. A UDC prisoner housed in the same building is checked through UDC, Board orders, and Adult Probation and Parole when supervision begins. UDC identifies information that may be shared, including name and offender number, legal status, housing, offense and sentence information, Board dates, parole or termination dates, commitment date, committing court, and case number. That list supports a focused request, but it does not promise that every item appears on every public search result.
For a missing or fully discharged history, use the records route linked from the UDC contact directory. Identify the person by name and UDC number if known. State the date range and ask for the specific release, parole, termination, transfer, or discharge record needed. Broad requests can be harder to process and may include material that is classified or redacted.

USCF Release Dates Can Change
Utah uses indeterminate sentencing for many prison terms. The court imposes a range, while the Board makes release decisions within its authority and applicable minimums. There is no sound blanket rule that every Utah prisoner serves 85 percent. The judgment, offense date, offense statute, minimum term, and Board record must be read together.
Earned-time programs can affect a Board date. UDC explains that qualifying completion of approved case-action-plan programs can result in four-month cuts, up to eight months for two qualifying programs, subject to statutory limits and Board action. Major discipline, new charges, unmet release conditions, rescission, sentence corrections, concurrent or consecutive terms, and detainers can also change the date.

Check the current record on or after the date. A future entry is a plan, not a completed event. A hearing date is even narrower because the Board may not issue the decision for weeks.
